Who we are

This website belongs to Emir Handyman Services (“Emir Handyman”, “we”), a family-run handyman business based in South Ockendon, Essex RM15. What this website collects

No forms. The estimate builder and the postcode checker work entirely inside your browser. When you press “Open WhatsApp”, your message opens in WhatsApp on your own device and nothing is sent to this website. You decide whether to send it.

Visitor statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Umami to count visits, see which pages are read and which buttons are pressed (for example, how many people open WhatsApp from a service page). Neither sets cookies or builds a profile of you; the statistics are anonymous totals.

Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the website and keep it secure.

When you contact Emir

If you message, call, text or email, we receive what you choose to share: usually your name, phone number, address or postcode, photos of the job and details of the work. We use it to reply to you, give you an estimate, arrange and carry out the work, and keep the records a business must keep, such as for tax.

Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing the contract, our legal obligations (for example, tax records), and our legitimate interest in running the business and answering enquiries.

WhatsApp is run by WhatsApp Ireland Limited, part of Meta, under its own privacy policy. WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted between you and Emir.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages only as long as they are useful for your enquiry or your job. Records of paid work are kept for as long as the law requires, which for tax records is usually several years.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent your information. We only share it where that is needed to carry out your job, or where the law requires us to.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Links to WhatsApp and Facebook take you to those services, which have their own policies.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
